In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Ihsan (kindness and excellence): Fill your child’s heart with kindness so that his mind will open to your guidance.
A harsh father—no matter how eloquent, persuasive, or knowledgeable—will find that his harshness becomes a barrier between him and his child. Kindness must come before instruction.
Being a role model comes before giving advice.
Touching the heart comes before speaking to the mind.
Speak to both the mind and the heart together.
